The Cubs room holds up to twelve children aged between three months and 16 months, dependent on each child’s individual stage of development.  The room is light, airy and spacious, well lit by natural light through the numerous windows on either side. The room is well equipped to meet the needs of the children throughout the day; there is a separate sleep area within the room that contains numerous travel cots and buggies; a separate area for making bottles and a room for changing nappies.

We follow the routines of individual children, encouraging your child to develop and grow at their own pace.

The room is equipped with a wide range of appropriate floor and table top toys, the majority of which are accessible by the children themselves. Many activities both planned and unplanned take place throughout the day on the wet play area of the room including; sand play, water play, easel painting, collage making, playdough, gloop etc.  Other favourite activities include investigating the treasure basket; physical sessions using the soft play apparatus and balls, sensory sessions, and musical sing-a-longs with instruments and dancing.  The children in the Cubs enjoy spending time outside in the garden, exploring the natural surroundings and playing on the smaller climbing frame and other equipment.  When numbers permit, the children go for walks around the surrounding area and other places such as the soft play centre.
